Position Summary
| The ASIC Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, testing, and maintaining Bitcoin mining equipment to maximize fleet uptime and operational efficiency. This role focuses on component-level repair of ASIC miners, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, inventory management, and continuous improvement of repair processes. The ASIC Repair Technician plays a critical role in reducing equipment downtime, minimizing replacement costs, and ensuring miners return to production as quickly as possible. |
Key Responsibilities
Monitoring & Incident Response
- Assist with Foreman monitoring and alert investigations.
- Review miner alerts and identify root causes of performance degradation or downtime.
- Escalate infrastructure-related issues to Site Operations leadership when necessary.
- Collaborate with Site Technicians to resolve operational incidents and restore uptime.
Client Equipment Support
- Support diagnostics and troubleshooting of client-owned mining equipment.
- Provide technical findings and repair recommendations for customer hardware.
- Assist Customer Success and Site Operations teams in resolving client equipment concerns.
- Ensure accurate documentation of repairs performed on customer-owned assets.
Site Deployments & Infrastructure Projects
- Assist with container migrations, miner relocations, and large-scale rack deployments.
- Support commissioning and decommissioning of mining equipment during expansion projects.
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades and site optimization initiatives.
- Participate in special operational projects that improve site efficiency and scalability.
Training & Documentation
- Create and maintain ASIC repair SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation.
- Develop training materials for Site Technicians and future ASIC Repair Technicians.
- Assist in onboarding and training new technical team members.
- Maintain an internal knowledge base of common miner failures and repair procedures.
Warranty & Vendor Coordination
- Identify miners eligible for manufacturer warranty claims or RMA processes.
- Document failure conditions and gather supporting evidence for warranty submissions.
- Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers regarding repair eligibility and replacement parts.
- Track warranty status and ensure timely processing of claims.
Site Tours & Customer Demonstrations
- Prepare repaired miners and demonstration units for customer visits and site tours.
- Ensure demonstration equipment is operational, clean, and representative of company standards.
- Support educational events, customer walkthroughs, and facility demonstrations.
- Assist in explaining repair processes and operational best practices to visitors when requested.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring hardware failures.
- Recommend preventive maintenance procedures.
- Assist in developing repair documentation and SOPs.
